Joon Lee is an artist focused on still-life photography. His creations, full of vivid colors, dichotomous everyday stuff, and visceralness, can trigger the most different sensations.
Lee focuses on still-life; primarily objectifying food to mimic everyday commodities. Appearing to work with vivacious flowers and exotic produce, Lee also interrogates the boundary of his own sexuality between disarray and harmony; a manifestation of Lee’s theoretical philosophy which correlates each work from his social, political, and environmental background. Not knowing where he sits on the spectrum, Lee observes the fine line of the two polar opposites and accompanies each photograph with opposite tones and forms.
