365 Postcards For Ants: a tiny illustrations series by Lorraine Loots

Lorraine Loots is a South African artist and miniaturist from Cape Town. Since 2013, as a daily personal challenge, she created the series 365 Postcards For Ants, which consists of tiny depictions of circular landscapes and everyday objects on a white background. This project ended up going viral and gained media attention, being featured on CBS, CNN, Charlie Rose, Huffington Post, and many others.

On the 1st of January 2013, I challenged myself to paint one miniature painting every day for an entire year, and committed to posting it on Instagram by the end of each day. Anyone could book a date, suggest a subject and own the artwork painted on that day.
